Public Affairs and Outreach Division

The Public Affairs and Outreach Division (PAO) is a team of personnel trained in Public Information, Fire Prevention, Public Education, as well as other specialty related training programs for the public.  EMFT believes that fire related deaths, and property loss can be reduced thru public education and outreach.  Our team is available to provide training classes to your school, work, civic organization, church or any other group 7 days a week.

 The PAO Division is broken down into three sections.

  • Community Outreach Section
    • Provide fire prevention training to civic organizations, schools, businesses and other organizations. 
    • Organizing community events, neighborhood group meetings, and fire prevention programs to include smoke detectors, safety visits.
    • Fire Drills in schools, pre-school and other local businesses in the territory.
    • Fire Station Tours
    • Long term goal would be to host a citizen’s fire academy in the future.
  • Life Safety Section
    • Infant and Juvenile Car Seat safetyCPR InstructionStop the Bleed
    • Other Community Related life safety education programs
  • Public Affairs Section
    • Coordination with media organizations.
    • Draft and disseminate all written, and oral press briefings.
    • Maintain department website as a communications tool used for community outreach.
    • Utilize different social media platforms to best reach all ages with community outreach, life safety, and other department related communications.
    • Provide on scene coordination with media partners to communicate life safety related messages to the public.
