Midday House Fire on Rangeline Road
Madison County, IN – Earlier today, the East Madison Fire Territory received a dispatch call regarding a house fire on South Rangeline Road. The resident of the house reported smoke emanating from the chimney at the rear of the property. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered heavy smoke in the attic and flames visible at the back of the house. Swift action was taken, and the fire was promptly extinguished, resulting in limited damage primarily to the ceiling, roof, and attic space. Fortunately, all occupants and pets were able to evacuate safely, and there were no reported injuries among civilians or firefighters. After investigation, the fire’s origin was determined to be electrical in nature. Notably, the house was equipped with functional smoke detectors. It is strongly recommended that every household maintain operational smoke detectors to ensure early detection of fires.
