Fire Prevention Week is Oct 9-15, 2022!

East Madison Fire Territory provides fire prevention training classes to people of all ages, but most specifically young children during Fire Prevention Week. The Public Affairs and Outreach Division will take our show on the road to teach children about fire prevention, fire safety, and other general training to help save lives when fire does break out.

This year’s Fire Prevention topic is “Fire Won’t Wait, Plan Your Escape.” EMFT partners with the National Fire Protection Association to make materials available to children of all ages. We encourage teachers, parents, grandparents, adult care givers, and anyone else who has interaction with children to use this week as an educational time with children. The number one way to prevent fire-related deaths is through training and preparation.

If there is an organization in Union or Richland townships that would like EMFT to come and put on a fire prevention training class, please call 765-378-3354 or email pio@eastmadisonfire.com
